Berima Kwame Antwi Bosiako, Okyeman Akyempemhene- Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council.

The Okyeman Akyempemhene of the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council in the Eastern Region, Berima Kwame Antwi Bosiako believes Ghana will be back to normalcy with the restoration of the dwelling economy.

According to him such turnaround would enhance Ghanaians with their standard of living.

“When the NPP government administration assumed office in January, 7, 2017, they implemented Free Senior High School programmes that paved way for both the rich and poor to at least send their children to Senior High School to further up their education after being complete the Junior High School to become useful to their various societies and the country as well”, he recounted.

Okyeman Akyempemhene, Berima Antwi Bosiako said, things were going on well smoothly with Ghanians until the Covid-19 hit the entire world which made development a standstill before the Russia-Ukrain war also worsen the situation.

“President Akufo Addo has attested to the fact that, things has fall apart but believe that, Ghana’s economy would bounce back stronger than even before, therefore, everybody must rally their support behind him to make Ghana a better place and get back to its initial developmental state”, he added.

The Okyeman Akyempemhene was speaking to Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH at Kyebi on Sunday, April 30, 2023 during his annual monthly Health Walk exercise with the people of the area.

He used the opportunity and congratulate the hardworking Ghanian workers for their massive contributions towards the development of this country as they celebrate the May Day on Monday, May 1 2023.

In last Month [April] walk exercise he promised the participants that any group that would come in their numbers to join the walk would be awarded with tabletop refrigerator and the Susanna Foundation won it.

The Kyebihene, Osaberima Marfo Kwabrane when presenting the award to them commended Berima Kwame Antwi Bosiako for coming up with such program to bring the youth of the area together.

Osaberima Kwabrane advise the youth of Akyem Abuakwa, especially those from Kyebi not to use the walk to do unholy things that will destroy their career in future.

He then entreated the students and artisans to take their studies and programs serious since it will go along way to help individually and to also transform and develop Akyem Abuakwa in the future.

Education is Ghana’s Backbone Of Unity Among Muslims And Christians…Minister

Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Technical and Vocational Education and Training, Gifty Twum Ampofo has indicated that education as a tool have strengthened the relationship between Muslims and the Christians community.

She cited unity and togetherness amidst love which has seen Ghana enjoying the coexisting peaceful environment in the country.

According to the minister, it is only through Education one gets to know and understands the nitty-gritty of humanity especially when it comes to what one like and dislikes.

“But in Ghana here, Christians are attending Muslims Schools whiles Muslims are also doing same and they don’t have any difficulty of learning together, and we will be able to coexist properly when we take Education very seriously,” Mrs. Ampofo underscores.

Making reference to Ghana’s neighboring country, the Lawmaker who represents Abuakwa North in parliament said most of these countries along Ghana’s borders are leaving on segregation because they lack unity, togetherness, and peace.

Eastern Regional Minister, Seth Kwame Acheampong who chaired the program entreated Muslims to pray on the message ‘IT IS POSSIBLE’ for the NPP to break the 8 as they close on bringing their Holy Ramadan Fast celebration to an end. 

He added that apart from the NPP there is no political party in Ghana who repeatedly makes the Christian and Islamic religion a true dominant choice of their candidature whenever there is an opportunity within the party to contest for any enviable position.

Universities Are Swallowing Our Tutors… P.W.C.E Principal Fumes

Presbyterian Women’s College of Education (PWCE) in Aburi in the Akuapem South Municipal Assembly of the Eastern Region held its 14th Congregation Ceremony where the first batch of the degree students of 209 graduated.

The graduation was supposed to come off on 2022 but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it was scheduled for 2023 due to the change in the academic calendar.

Addressing the graduands and the dignitaries, the Principal for Presbyterian Women’s College of Education-Aburi, Cynthia Anim (Mrs.) expressed her displeasure about how the various Universities in Ghana especially, the University of Education-Winneba are taking away their faculty tutors because their services of conditions are far better than theirs.

She adds, after the traditional Universities have swallowed their faculty tutors or members they find it difficult to get financial clearance to replace them and is one of the major challenges confronting the colleges of education in the country, something she said must be look at.

Cynthia Anim said, the Presbyterian Women’s College of Education-Aburi is in dire need of a bus for supporting teaching and college activities as well as projectors to enhance classroom teaching and learning.

She also appealed to the stakeholders, individuals, philanthropist and NGOs to come to their aid, saying, most part of their wall has developed cracks and unfortunately on July 4, 2022, the part of it collapsed and needed some immediate reconstruction for the safety of students and staff.

Furthermore, the best graduating student, Stephanie Claudia Kotey in her valedictory speech urged her colleagues to continue to push themselves to set new goals and keep doing their best.

“So let us go forth and shine with collaboration, passion, courage, and conviction and make our marks wherever we are going to serve mother Ghana”, she added.

For his part, the guest speaker for the 14th congregation ceremony of PWCE, Aburi, Professor Eric Anane advice the graduates to dedicate themselves to the teaching work, because it is only when ‘you enjoying what you do that you can do it better and he is not ashamed of being a teacher.’

Prof. Eric Anane added, we are in the knowledge regime or industrialization, therefore the use of Information Technology Communication has become eminent and very important in the teaching field, so the graduated students should take it serious and go learn to add it to their teaching skills as they are going to the world.

I’m NDC’s Sure Bet For Fanteakwa South Seat…Dampare

Agyekum Dampare, Parliamentary Aspirant-Fanteakwa South Constituency.

An parliamentary aspirant at Fanteakwa South Constituency in the Eastern Region, Agyekum Dampare, well-known in the political terrain as ‘Yaw Boye’ has affirmed that he is the sure bet to lead the NDC for the area in the 2024 elections.

He noted the first step of the party’s aim of reclaiming the parliamentary seat from the NPP begins when delegates elect him at its primaries slated for May 13, 2023.

However, ‘Yaw Boye’ believe the [NDC] should forget winning the seat once a candidate in his caliber to lead the NDC in Fanteakwa South is overlook.

According to him, the residents have assured him that once delegates repose their trust in him at the primaries they will also embrace him through voting to enable him represent them in Parliament because his capabilities are unquestionable.

Agyekum Dampare told Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH after he was successfully vetted and cleared by the NDC Eastern Regional Vetting Committee. He followed and picked number two on the ballat paper ahead of the party’s upcoming parliamentary primaries.

He added that, he is man of peace therefore when given the nod he will bring everybody on board to ensure they snatch the Fanteakwa South seat from the NPP.

He furthered by stressing on the importance to resource its grassroot members and branch executives because they are the pillar to the success of every political party.

To that end, Mr. Agyekum, reiterated its call and cited in the voice of John Dramani Mahama, a flagbearer hopeful that ‘resourcing the grassroot has the potential of winning the 2024 elections both parliamentary and presidential.

Some Fanteakwa South NDC executives added that the former is the perfect choice to lead the NDC as he is tried and tested.

E/R: GRNMA Commissions And Handover 33 Motorbikes To Its Executive Members

The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) has commissioned and handed over 33 brand new motorbikes to its executives across the 33 Municipal and District Assemblies in the Eastern Region.

A brief handing over ceremony was done on Friday, March 31, 2023, saw a trio of the GRNMA, the General Secretary [Dr. David Tenkoranf-Twum], Eastern Regional Chairman [Rev. Hayford Laryeah] and Acting Eastern Regional CNMO [Mrs. Rosephilo Adoma] presented the motorbikes to the beneficiaries.

Speaking in an interview with Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI, the General Secretary for the Association, Dr. David Tenkoranf-Twum said, the welfare of its members has become very important hence taking such initiative to ensure the members are safe and well protected at their various stations.

Dr. Tenkoranf-Twum recounted that, after assuming office, they purchased 10 minibuses for all the administrative regions in the country to enhance their work. He stressed the disbursement of the motorbikes is to also enable them to use it at the expense of the vehicles where they cannot go.  

He added that, all the 33 motorbikes commissioned and handed over to the Municipal and District chairpersons are fully registered and insured where persons with license would only be allowed to possess it.

Dr. Tenkoranf-Twum to that end, advice the beneficials to at all times use protective wears [gloves, helmet etc.] before riding the motorbikes and also drive with the cautious it deserves to prevent any unforeseen tragedy of accidental.

For his part, the Eastern Regional Chairman for the GRNMA, Rev. Hayford Laryeah thanked the national leadership for the motorbikes, noting that it comes at the right time since they needed it badly to complement its day-to-day activities.

According to him, issues of lack of visitation to its members in the past at some places is as a result of bad road networks however with the interventions of the donated motorbikes, he is hopeful the act would become a thing of the past.

He thus assured its members of a regular visit henceforth as it also provides an avenue to enable them to discover and forward their plights to the national executives for assistant.

P.C.E,Akropong: First Batch Of Degree Students Graduated

The Presbyterian College of Education-Akropong in the Akuapem North Municipal Assembly of the Eastern Region on Saturday, April 1, 2023, held its 15th Congregation Ceremony where 417 students graduated after completion of their degree programmes.

The graduation also means they becomes the first batch or group who offered the four-year degree program since its introduction by the ruling New Patriotic Party government in 2018. Previously it was a 3-year Diploma Programme.

Out of the aforementioned number of the graduated students, 52 grabs first class position whiles 231 had second-class upper position. At least 115 also achieved second-class lower position as 19 got third class position in that order.

Moderator for Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Right Reverend Professor Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante applauded the graduates for the wonderful performance recorded in their final examinations.

“I don’t remember the last time 12% of the final year students of any of the universities in Ghana get the 1st class position. And this shows that, the leaders of the Presbyterian College of Education, Akropong are on top of their game, and they deserve commendation,” he told Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH.

Right Rev. Professor Yeboah Mante then advise the graduates to accept posting to any school regardless the location and insist they impact knowledge on the school children.

He discloses further that, due to the long existence of the college some individuals have started resorted in encroaching the school land a development he described as very worrying.

Cautioning these encroachers on their illegal activities, Rev. Nicholas Siaw said, the institution shall use every resource and means available to them to reclaim their property.

He furthered by indicating that it will be wise the encroachers vacate the lands as soon as possible than waiting for them to be sacked to trigger any chaos.

He then appeals to the general public, philanthropist, institutions to come to their aid and help them fenced the school within its boundaries.

Presbyterian Women’s College Of Education Gets New Principal

Presbyterian Women’s College of Education, Aburi, in the Eastern Region has inducted into office Mrs. Cynthia Anim as the school’s new principal to run and manage its affairs

She was officially inducted on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at a ceremony on the school’s campus in the Akuapem South municipality.

The induction was done by the Moderator of the General Assembly of Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Right (Rt) Rev. Professor Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante.

Mrs Cynthia Anim until her appointment was the Acting Principal of the college since 2020 following the retirement of the then principal, Dr. Harriet Naki Amui.

Speaking to Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH, Mrs. Anim expressed her excitement over her elevation and the opportunity given her to head one of the reputable college’s in the region and the country at large.

She also noted the huge responsibilities head of her administration as managing female students comes with challenges and difficulties however she is hopeful of combining God’s favour on her side and the experience gathered to forsee her core mandate diligently accordingly.

BACKGROUND OF CYNTHIA ANIM.

Cynthia Anim was born on April 17, 1969 and us married with two children. She is currently PhD student of University of South Africa (UNISA) pursuing a programme in Educational Management.

She is an educationalist with a rich working experience. She began her teaching career in Akuapemman Senior High School, Akropong-Akuapem I’m 1998 as an Economics teacher.

Cynthia Anim worked in that school from 1998-2008 and after 10yrs of service in Okuapemman SHS, she moved to the Presbyterian Women’s College of Education, Aburi in 2008 where she taught Environmental and Social Studies as a tutor until 2019.

Meanwhile, in 2017, Cynthia Anim through her hardwork rose to become the Vice Principal of the Presbyterian Women’s College of Education-Aburi. A position she held until 2020 and in 2023 she was officially inducted into the office as the Substantive Principal of the School.

C. E. O Of Ready Oil Enstooled As Chief Of Akyem-Muoso

The Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ready Oil Limited has been enstooled as the Chief of Akyem-Muoso in the Eastern region.

Known in private life as Samuel Kwaku Owusu-Manu, the oil marketing company boss, has been given the stool name Barima Owusu Bɛyɛɛman.

He succeeded his brother, Barima Ofori Afam Kyekyeku who reigned from 2018 to 2022 until he joined his ancestors.

Draped in black traditional cloth and slippers, the new Chief was led by his elders to swear the oath of allegiance before the people and elders in line with customs and traditions

Barima Owusu Bɛyɛɛman, as part of the rich culture ceremony was paraded in town, signalling to the people the presence of a new chief.

The colourful ceremony was attended by family, friends, Chiefs and well-wishers including, Daasebre Ayimadu Kantamanto Kwabeng Hene, Osabarima Adigye Gyamfi, Akrofufu Hene, Osabarima Kwame Koh II Asaman Tamfoe Hene, Osabarima Kyei Osafo Kantanka, Enyiresi Hene who double as Reagent of Muoso.

The rest are, Nana Biama Adomaa I Muosohemaa, Osabarima Bosompem Ayiripe II Sawirakohene, renowned legal practitioner, Kwame Gyan, Nana Ama Dampare, Madam Diana Dampare, Bernnett Dampare and Abusuapanin Anim Dankwa.

Barima Owusu Bɛyɛɛman will swear the oath of alliance to his overlord, Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin in Kyebi.

Born on november,12, 1966, the new chief is an accomplished development with diverse experience across a wide range of industry sectors including Oil &Gas, Banking and Insurance.

He started his banking and finance career with the Ghana Commercial Bank Limited as a management trainee.

Between 1996 and 1997, he rose to the position of the officer in Charge of Current Account and Systems Administrator at the bank’s Tema main branch mainly responsible for the current account operations of the branch.

He became the accounts relationship officer in charge of the Koforidua and Tema Zones until in 2001 when he headed the Oil and gas sector of the bank with the utmost responsibility for the management of portfolio of Accounts in the oil sector.

He formerly served as board chairman for Donewell Life Insurance from 2014 to 2022

Barima Owusu B3y33man is an accomplished scholar pursuing currently pursuing a PhD. in Finance from De Montfort University, UK.

He holds three master’s degrees in Petroleum Economics and Finance, Ports and Shipping Administration and Finance from the Coventry University in U.K , Regional Maritime University and the University of Ghana, respectively.

He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Statistics from the University of Ghana in 2003.

The business mogul through his ingenuity and entrepreneurship acumen, has offered employment to many young men and women across the country.

Developing A Country Precede Visionary Leader…Amankrado of Akwamu Adonten

According to him, in the new era of the world it demands a very proactive and visionary leader who would take the welfare of its youth into consideration because they hold the future of the country.

He indicated that, there are so many talents among the youth in Apeguso, thus motivated the Nanaanom of the area with the idea to built a resource center where both skilled and unskilled labour would acquired the needed training.

Nana Dedey Akwei II stressed by noting that once initiative and programmes are rolled out to alleviate poverty, assisting the youth to get their own job is key and must be coupled with Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

The traditional ruler ceased the opportunity and advice his colleagues chiefs to emulate his steps and also prioritize the welfare of its people first rather than amassing wealth for themselves.

Chief Executive Officer for the National Youth Authority (NYA), Pius Enam Hadzide said, statistics indicate that, Asuogyaman District alone has a population of 101,000, 256 out of which over 75,000 are youth .

He is on that score charge leaders at Akwamuman especially Apeguso area to always make it a priority to include the youth in every aspect of developmental programmes to help developed the area.

He therefore assured Nanaanom and Chiefs of Akwamu Traditional Area that, he will contribute his quota towards the welfare of the youth in Akwamu as he hails from the place.

For his part, the Omanhene of Akwamu Traditional Area, Odeneho Kwafo Akoto III acknowledge the gesture of the Nanaanom of Apeguso and advised the youth to take advantage of the resource centre when made available for use.

Akuapeman Lagging Development…. Amanokromhene Reminds

The Amanokromhene who doubles as the Gyaasehene of Akuapem Traditional Council in the Eastern Region, Okofrobour Osiem Kwatia has openly stated that, Akuapeman lags development due to the chieftaincy dispute and its related matters.

According to him, the development is worrying but confidence that, the move by the Akuapehene, Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akufo III to tour the five divisions in Akuapem Traditional Council, will yield positive outcome.

This he believes would bring unity, togetherness and peace among the chiefs something that will restore the lost glory of Akuapemman and get back to its developmental state.

Okofrobour Kwatia assured the overlord of Akuapem that, the Gyaaseman will do all what they can to help him bring all the chiefs under one umbrella for a common goal for the transformation of Akuapemman.

Emphasising further, Okofrobour Osiem Kwatia is of the conviction that the exercise of the Akuapehene shall pave the way for all the five divisional chiefs to form a unified front for Akuapeman amid its rises.

The Obaahemaa of Amanokrom who doubles as the Akuapem Gyaasehemaa, Nana Manko Aba II said, everyone can attest to the fact that Akuapeman now has Omanhene and is about time everybody forgoes his or her differences and rally their support behind him to rule Akuapeman.

She stated that, ‘she is the happiest person at the area because ever since she ascended on the Amanokrom and Gyaase throne for over 20yrs this is the first time she is seeing a Paramount Chief of Akuapem Traditional Council touring the five divisions for unity.’

A move she described as remarkable of a good leader who think about the welfare of its people.  Nana Amanko Aba II then described Akuapehene’s NKABOM TOUR as a ‘historical’ that needed to be written down for future references.

On his part, the Akuapehene, Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akufo III challenge that once they wished to achieve the development seeking for Akuapeman then there must be discipline among the Chiefs because it would not come through miracle.
