2022 Budget: Majority Walking Out Of Parliament Very Unfortunate….Apostle Dadzie Hints

The General Overseer of Leaders Light International Church, Apostle Dr. Samuel Dadzie, has expressed worry over the attitude the Majority exhibited in Ghana’s Parliament following the approval of the country’s 2022 Budget.

According to him, after the government presented the 2022 Budget and reliase that there was lapses in the presentation they should have corrected it before formally presenting it to the house for approval.

This, the Man of God described it as ‘inefficiency’ and ‘unfortunate’ on the part of Majority to walked out of Parliament, a move he said necessitated in the rejection of the budget.

He explained that “Last year by this time, prices of commodities shoot up, therefore am pleading with Prez Akufo-Addo and his NPP gov’t to do something about the dismissal of the 2022 budget as soon as possible, because we need money to run the affairs of the country,”.

He then chastised that, NPP government led Prez Nana Addo was voted to power knowing they were going to work hard to transform the country.

Apostle Dr. Samuel Dadzie was speaking to Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH during the Church 3rd Anniversary Celebration.

Moreover, Apostle Dr. Samuel Dadzie commended Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akkufo Dampare for cautioning Ghanaian men of God to be extra careful over prophecies they put out in public which causes fear and panic.

He further added that, the swift action taken by IGP will help sensitize the religious system amidst eradicating Prophets and Prophetess who gave doom prophecies in the country.

Benjilo Foundation Supports Adadientam R/C Basic School With 6 Desktop Computers

The Benjilo Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisation have donated 6 brand new desktop computers worth over GHS20,000 to Adadientam Roman Catholic JHS in the Abuakwa South Municipality of the Eastern Region.

Receiving the computers, the Headmaster of the school, Mr. Seth Amoh commended the foundation for their kind gesture to the school, because they have been waiting for such items for a while.

He noted that ever since he was posted to the school for over 3yrs, he has dreamt of getting computers to enhances academic works but proved futile on countless occasions following letters he has written.

Mr. Amoh therefore added that the computers received by the Benjilo Foundation mean a lot the school, since the world has now turned digital and it will be key in teaching a situation he described as a sign of relief.

Mr. Seth Amoh assures handling of the machines with care to enable it last long for it’s right purposes for other students.

The CEO of the Foundation who doubles as the Director of Finance at YEA, Mr. Benjamin Arkaah Otoo explained that, their motives behind the donations was to fulfill a promised they made to the school following a request.

“Then I asked them to come to me if they need a help, so some few months later they came to my office and said they have computer laboratory but is left with the computers”

“So I went to Mr. Atta Kyea to inform him about the steps we are taking and then he gave me the greenlight to go ahead and assist them, since gov’t alone can’t meet all the needs of its citizens,” he added

Bishop TT’s Mother Goes Home Today

The late Madam Mary Adadua Bibio Dodoo Mankatah, mother of Bishop Kwaku Tetteh, Founder and Leader of the Remoulding Destiny House Chapel International has been laid to rest at a private burial today, Saturday, November 19, 2021.

She, was, however, laid in state at Cosmos School Park near Lapaz New Market.

Her family members and some colleagues of her son in the Pastoral front all met to pay their last respect to ‘Anutie Ayelley’ as she was affectionately called.

Late Madam Dodoo Mankata died at aged 77 after a short illness.

Pension Scheme: Over 41,000 Ghost Names Cleared…..SSNIT Reveals

The Deputy Director General for Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) in charge of Operations and Benefits, Mrs. Laurette Korkor Otchere have said, the institution have cleared 41,500 ghost names from their pension roll and reactive 17,000 people back to the scheme.

She indicated that, clearing those ghost names from the pension roll has helped SSNIT to save Hundred and Eighty-Six million Ghana Cedis for the country.

Mrs. Korkor Otchere indicated that after taking over the Operations and Benefits position, in 2018, the institution did an audit to ensure those who are on the payrolls are alive, to avoid paying monies into ghost accounts.

“In every month, those at the age of 72yrs and above are required to renew their life certificate. We looked at it and realized many people haven’t done it and it indicate they are not alive that led to the clearing of the aforementioned number of persons names from the pension scheme”, she noted.

Mrs. Laurette Korkor Otchere made these known to Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI during their 3 day 2021 Operations Conference held in Koforidua.

However, she noted that a public announcement was made before the said names were deleted to ensure no one is affected.

She also gave a notice that, other beneficiaries who are yet to received their money since 2018 to get in touch with the authorities to enable renew their life certificates for payment.

The Director General of SSNIT, Dr. John Ofori- Tenkorang therefore highlighted that over one million people have been assigned to the pension scheme between 2016 and 2020.

“Out of the 1m people we have registered, only 4,000 active persons pay their monthly contributions, a situation he described as very disturbing and is not encouraging at all”.

Dr. Ofori -Tenkorang then tasked his managers to go out there and let the people know there are lot of benefit in the pension scheme, thus calling on the business men and women to joined the scheme

Bringing his speech to an end, he stated that, the law made it clear that every private firm must pay its staff pension dues, hence they will soon come after those who have failed to do justice.

Leaked Audio: Birim South DCE Allegedly Fumes,Threatens Journalist For Negative Reportage

Mr. Asare Danso,DCE-Birim South District Assembly.

Honourable Asare Danso, District Chief Executive of Birim South, has been captured on tape for allegedly threatening a journalist, Kofi Amoah popularly called Fiko, who works with Ahenkan Radio for reporting negative and falsehood about him (DCE), the audio which is in Twi (Ghanaian local language) emphasized.

“There is power somewhere, after spending six months somewhere you will attest. I use the law for everything I do. That Fiko should continue to do those foolish reports about me, I will get him.

“As you see, I have done a lot in Akyem Swedru and the environs but your reporter will never mention but always negativity, negativity. Am I an animal? this small boy aaah! I will get him, but just be careful you don’t also fall victims because I’m bent on taking drastic decision against the boss. I know he is going to fall because he is a fool, Fiko, I will lay hands on him………….!” The tape revealed.

He further sent a word of caution to Kofi Amoah, to be fair in his reportage about him to avoid his (DCE) wrath.

2021 Budget: We Expect Gov’t To Add Some Percentage To The Lorry Fare

As many Ghanaians are waiting to listen to what Mr. Ken Ofori Atta, the Finance Minister have for them in tomorrow’s 2022 budget, some persons have expressed their expectations ahead of the budget.

The Treasurer of Koforidua Progressive Transport Union Association (PROTOA), Mr. Joshua Kofi Soga have said, the Driver Unions across the country are suffering as a result of the continuous increment of the fuel prices.

“We are expecting the Finance Minister to address to this issue either reducing the fuel prices or adding some small percentage to the lorry fare to help relief drivers from their suffering”, he noted.

Mr. Kofi Soga indicated that, it is not only the fuel prices that have gone up, but rather, the prices of spare parts have also gone up. Now car battery price have increased from GHS350.00 to GHS600.00, car tyres from GHS350.00 to GHS500.00, and engine oil from GHS82.00 to GHS116.00.

He made this to Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH, adding that, its difficult for the drivers to get money to buy new spare parts to fix their vehicles when the fuel prices goes high without increasing the lorry fare.

He ceased the opportunity to advice drivers to be extra cautious when driving as Christmas festivities is approaching.

Mr. Soga also highlighted that good driver are the ones who drives passengers to their various destinations safely.

” I observed during the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) monitoring with the Deputy Minister of Education incharge of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) also the member of parliament for Abuakwa North Constituency, Honourable Gifty Twum-Ampofo, the Regional and Municipal Education Directors, Mrs Margaret Nsiah-Asamoah and Miss Abena Gyamerah respectively that, Abuakwa North Municipal Education Directorate needed to be taken care of with water and other drinks to fortify them in their discharge of the five day examination process hence my decision to donate seventeen (17) cartons of malt drinks and thirty-five (35) cartons of bottled water. A kind gesture I emulated from my political God father, Nana Akufo-Addo, the President of the Republic of Ghana and the Commander In chief Of The Ghana Armed Forces, my utmost appreciations to him always”, stated Hon. Alhaji Umar Babs Bodinga.

He therefore, admonished all officials and invigilators to continue to deliver their core mandates with the best of diligence devoided of any intimidation or whatsoever to make the examination process successful.

The Honourable Municipal Chief Executive, emotionally opted with impulse decision, to take charge of the feeding of some candidates from other small but remote towns namely, Nobi, Anweabeng and Abremponsu, who have been given temporal stay, around the examination centres because of commuting difficulties, as hinted by the Municipal Education Director.

Receiving the donations with emotions, Miss Abena Gyamerah, the Municipal Education Director, expressed her profound gratitude to the Municipal Chief Executive and pledged maximum cooperation to build the education sector in the Municipality for national development.
The items were received in the presence of some selected staff of the directorate.

According to Miss Abena Gyamerah, thousand five hundred and ninety five (1,595) candidates are expected to write the examination in the municipality.

The presentation he said, is the first institutional donation since the beginning of his tenure of office and it’s just the first of many more to come.

Hon. Umar Babs Bodinga (Alhaji), newly confirmed Municipal Chief Executive of Abuakwa North Assembly in the Eastern Region of Ghana made these donations together with some selected staff from the Municipal Assembly, 16th November, 2021 to facilitate all officials and Invigilators of the year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination.

The examinations, which will end on Friday, November 19, will be held at 2,158 centres, with a total of 571,894 candidates across the country.

“Free SHS Awaits You,Grab It With Seriousness….Dept. Edu. Min. To BECE Candidates

Mrs. Gifty Twum-Ampofo, MP for Abuakwa North Constituency in the E/R also the Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) has today toured the three (3) Basic School Education Certificate Examination (BECE) centers in the Constituency namely Ofori Panin, WBM Zion and Hawa Memorial Saviour Senior High Schools.

The Hon Deputy Minister was satisfied with the examination conduct, the calm composure of the students and the adherence of the COVID-19 safety protocols at the centers.

She wished the candidates the best of luck and admonished them to approach the examination with the seriousness it deserves for a successful future as the Nana Akufo-Addo led New Patriotic Party administration’s Free Senior High School (FSHS) flagship policy awaits them.

Mrs. Gifty Twum-Ampofo pleaded with teachers and parents to help the candidates during the Senior High Schools selection process and advised that, Technical and Vocational Education and Training should be prioritized since government has invested massively to manpower its industrialization agenda.

Mrs. Twum Ampofo then admonished the girls to embrace the non- traditional TVET courses such as, auto mechanic engeneering, welding , spraying, carpentry and joinery, electricals etc to bridge the boys domination gap.

Mr. Alhaji Umar Babs Bodinga, Municipal Chief Executive of Abuakwa North on his part, encouraged the candidates to approach the examination with confidence and avoid any form of examination malpractices. This he said, will make their academic journey smooth and successful for a brighter future.

The Hon. Municipal Chief Executive advised the candidates to be very calm and proactive in answering their questions by reading them well as the questions are nothing new but from their basic syllabus.

According to Miss Abena Gyamerah, the Municipal Education Director, thousand five hundred and ninety five (1,595) candidates are expected to write the examination in the municipality.

The delegation included, Mrs. Margaret Nsiah-Asamoah, Eastern Regional Education Director, Mrs Ruth Woode, Abuakwa North Municipal Coordinating Director & some selected staff from the Municipal Assembly, Hon Emmanuel Asare Gyekye, Presiding Member of Abuakwa North, Mr Stephen Osei Wusu, Municipal NADMO Director, staff from the Education Ministry and the press.

The examinations, which will end on Friday, November 19, will be held at 2,158 centres, with a total of 571,894 candidates across the country.

Meanwhile, 55,888 candidates sits for the Eastern Regional 2021 BECE of which 28,588 are boys and 27,300 are girls.

Our Work Is Tedious, We Need Salaries…Assembly Members To Local Gov’t Min.

The National Dean of Presiding Members – Ghana, Mr. Joseph Korto expressed worry over local government refusal to pay salaries to Assembly Members.

According to him, the development is disturbing since their duties are tedious thus, the Local Government Ministry and Parliament should seek to amend some articles of the laws to ensure their incentives goes up.

Mr. Korto adds, all the 261 MMDCEs have vehicles and offices to discharge their duties unlike the presiding members. Meanwhile they are the pillars of the Assembly, something he’s asking gov’t to get them vehicles and offices to help them discharge their duties accordingly.

He told Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH during the 2021 National Conference held in Eastern Region-Kofoidua with the THEME: GHANA’S DIGITAL REVOLUTION FOR A BRIGHT FUTURE; THE ROLE OF THE LOCAL ASSEMBLIES.

Mr. Joseph Korto then urged all the Assemblies to embrace digitization in their works, because digitization is key to development.

Speaking on behalf of the Communications Minister, Mrs. Ursula Owusu Akuffo, the Deputy Administrator of Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), Mrs. Eva Andoh Opoku indicated that, most countries are developing through digital transformation which Ghana must follow suit to emulate them.

Mrs. Andoh Opoku continue that, girls are not interested in studying ICT as a result, the Communication Ministry led by Mrs. Owusu Akuffo have introduced what’s called ‘Girls in ICT’ to teach them about how to operate computer or mobile phones to do businesses transaction

“The Communication Ministry is training over 1000 girls in IT nationwide which have commenced in C/R, NE/R, O,R, W/R, and WN/R. This programme have made us to notice that most of the girls haven’t even seen computer mouse before and is difficult for them to use it.

E/R: Abuakwa North MP Donates Over 1,600 Mathematical Sets And Pens To The BECE Candidates

As 2021 Basic Education Certificate Examination candidates are preparing themselves for the Monday, November 15, 2021 showdown, the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North Constituency in the Eastern Region, Mrs. Gifty Twum Ampofo have donated hundreds of mathematical set and pens to the candidates.

Other beneficiaries of the MP’s gesture are teachers who teaches mathematics and science subjects in her constituency.

Addressing the candidates, the MP who doubles as the Deputy Minister of Education, in charge of Technical and Vocational Education and Training, said, life after school will be difficult to cope with should they fail to make the pass mark in the examination, and thus thought to assist them with the items which is key.

“Hence there is the need for me to come in as parents to encourage and pray with them for God Almighty to see them through and also to wish them well” she added.

Mrs. Twum Ampofo also urged them to be extra careful when choosing schools in their next level of education, a situation he highlighted that the world has now become technical and vocational which she suggests TVET as the only solution to alleviate poverty.

Madam Abena Gyamerah, the Municipal Education Director on her side noted, preparation towards the Monday exams is far advance saying they have 3 centers where the B. E. C. E will take place i.e. OPASS, Saviour SHS, and W. B. M. School. Adding that, the logistics are in except the questions.

“On Sunday, November 14, 2021 all the candidates will go to the aforementioned centers to check their names and index numbers before the exams on Monday, November 15,2021” she accounts.

Madam Abena Gyamerah, indicated that a total of 1,595 candidates for 2021 BECE which comprises of 779 males and 816 females were registered in the municipality.

Meanwhile the entire Eastern Region have 55,888 candidates prepared for this years BECE examination with 28,588 being males and 27,300 females
