The four teacher unions namely CCT, NAGRAT, GNAT and TEWU including other public workers embarked on two weeks nationwide strike over government failure to meet its 20% conditions of Cost of Living Allowance.

However, after fruitful discussion between both parties on Thursday July 14, 2022, they concluded on 15% out of the intended 20%.

To these effect, the government has directed the payment to be done to them retrospective from July 1, 2022.

Thus, Mr. Appau Gyasi, believes least was expected from the government but with the steps taken, Akuffo Addo deserves praises.

“Nobody thought President Nana Addo would have address the needs of the teachers anything soon to benefit other organised labour groups because of the IMF bailout.”

Mr. Appau Gyasi was speaking in an exclusive interview with Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH on the back of the quick response by the government to increase the salaries of teachers and other labour unions by 15% condition of Cost of Living Allowances.

He described the move by President Akufo Addo as a listening gov’t who think about the welfare of its citizens.

He ceased the opportunity and advised the beneficiary organised labour groups to work hard to help the economy bounced back stronger and better.

He further mentioned that, prior to finding a lasting solution to the country’s economy, the president had on Monday July 10, 2022 engaged all of its MMDCE’s to deliberate on measures to get back to its peak.

Mr. Gyasi observes further that the development is good the teachers and other labour unions who pushed for the 15%, therefore he charged them to work hard to justify it.

Mr. Prince Henry Tabi, Aspiring NDC Deputy Communications Officer- Eastern Region.

A Deputy Communications Officer hopeful of the NDC in the Eastern Region, Mr. Prince Henry Tabi has sent his goodwill message to all candidates vying for the various positions in the NPP’s upcoming national executive Congress elections.

The election is slated between Friday, July 15 to Sunday, July 17, 2022 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

According to him, both NPP and NDC are brothers and sisters though it is their political affiliation that separate them which doesn’t make them enemies.

Mr. Henry Tabi adds, those who will emerge victorious in their elections will go and joined the losers in opposition come 2024, saying, breaking the 8yrs jinx would be a nightmare for them.

“…And when this happen, I won’t blame the newly NPP’s elected National Executives but rather would fault Prez Akufo-Addo and Vice Prez Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia for their abysmal performance” he said.

Mr. Prince Henry Tabi told Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH. Stressing that, yes!, the national executives of the ruling party would do their possible best to retain power in 2024, the abysmal hallmark of Prez Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia will sink them to opposition.

He added that, when NDC was leaving power in 2016, the price of a gallon of fuel was between ₵14.00 and ₵15.00 but same amount currently is equivalent to 1 per liter in 2022. This indicate how PREZ AKUFO-ADDO has collapsed the country’s economy.

He continue to say, he doesn’t want any chaos to occur before, during, and after of their upcoming national executives elections because if chaos occurred it will affect the entire country.

Mr. Tabi stated that wishing them the best doesn’t guarantee them power in the 2024 general elections because things has fall apart.

“Ghana’s Inflation is up by 29.8% from June 2022 and anytime soon lorry fare would be increased. What pains me much is that the price of “BREAD” has shoot up but decrease in seize. No matter what Mr. John Dramani Mahama will be elected as Prez come December 7, 2024 to save this country from this hardship”, he noted.
