The Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Atiwa East constituency of the Eastern Region, Albert Nuamah, has described Paul Afoko’s intention to contest the party’s national chairmanship position as timely and necessary.
“Paul Afoko served as the National Chairman and was indefinitely suspended by the National Executive Committee of the Party on Friday, October 23, 2015, due to some misunderstanding that popped up between our National Leadership.
“So if today, he has been reinstated into the party and has the zeal to serve the party again by vying for the same position, it is good news because we need numbers to recapture power in 2028,” he added.
Chairman Nuamah further stated that the party needs a formidable team to contest the 2028 general elections and secure the presidential seat from the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He admonished party faithful to set aside their differences and come together to work extra hard toward returning to power, emphasizing that they cannot afford to lose the 2028 elections.
Mr. Nuamah, on behalf of his constituency executives, welcomed Paul Afoko back into the party and wished him well. He urged members of the elephant fraternity to love, support, and accept him in good faith.
“Our upcoming national elections will be very tough because all those contesting for the various positions are very experienced and have contributed their quota toward the development of the NPP.
“Boakye Agyarko, the former Energy Minister, Ursula Owusu Akuffo, the former Communication Minister, Paul Afoko, the former National Chairman, among others have declared their intentions to join the national elections race, demonstrating how strong and attractive the NPP is becoming, and are poised to come to power in 2028,” he opined.
According to him, all those seeking national positions deserve it, but the best must win.
