A Parliamentary hopeful for the people of Asuogyaman Constituency in the Eastern Region, Paul Asare Ansah says the people is yearning for his coming as Member of Parliament.
According to him, he remains the only hope of the people thus hoping for him to be elected as MP.
He made the statement while submitting his nomination forms at the party’s office in the constituency on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, to contest for a slot in the party’s coming primaries.
Speaking to Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH having successfully submitting the forms, Paul Asare Ansah noted, that majority of the constituents are dying of hunger due to frustration coupled with unemployment and poverty.
He therefore asked the people to give him the mandate to lead the party in the 2024 general election and subsequently vote him as MP to change the fortunes of the people.
Ensuring he achieve the feat, Mr. Ansah said he will bring to the area developmental policies and projects and also advocate for a health policy to help make the people strong to prevent unwanted death.
Adding that, medical checkup through screening under his leadership would become a compulsory policy in the Asuogyaman constituency.
“I’m of strong convection that, if we are able to do that, the number of deaths would be minimize in our various hospitals and the amount of money being spent on our medical treatment would also be reduced”, he opined.

Paul Asare Ansah who contested the 2020 parliamentary elections having been elected in the NPP’s primaries in 2019 eventually lost the seat narrowly to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to him, he is confident that he will be unseat the NDC’s MP Thomas Ampem Nyarko should the delegates vote for him again.
He emphasized, that his aim of coming to contest for the second time is to help resolve the unemployment situation in the area.
On their part, some delegates who accompanied him to file his nomination forms added that Paul Ansah is a unifier and he deserve to be given another nod to lead them into the 2024 elections because he remains the only person who can recapture the seat for the NPP in Asuogyaman after years.
The NPP Secretary for Asuogyaman Constituency, Christian Okomfo Addo after receiving the forms from Paul Asare Ansah indicated the executives have advised all aspirants competing for the parliamentary position to refrain from politics of insult.
He believes that is the only way they can form a unifying front after the primaries and rally their support behind the winner to unseat the NDC.
