ADACOE Holds The 2024 Success, Africa Summit

The Ada College of Education in the Greater Accra Region has held its 17th edition of the 2024 Africa Success Summit to equip the students on how to create job opportunities for themselves and become business tycoons and entrepreneurs in the future.

Doing so would help address the unemployment rate challenges confronting the country in the sense that when these teacher trainees graduate from school they won’t be overreliant on the government for posting to their various schools.

However, they can apply the knowledge acquired to set up small businesses for themselves and employ others who don’t have jobs and with this, the unemployment issues will be thine of the past.

Professor Prince Boateng, Principal-AdaCoE.

The Ada College of Education collaborated with the LEC Group to embark on such a journey where more than 1,000 students participated in the event.

Speaking to Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH, the Principal of the College, Professor Prince Boateng said, it is very essential for students to add value to their academic careers to better their life.

Prof Boateng indicated that organizing such programs on campuses for tertiary students, especially the teacher trainees opened their eyes to realize their dreams and start creating their businesses so that when they complete school they won’t become burdens to their parents.

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer for LEC Group, Albert Prempeh Kusi stated, that they commenced this program in 2008 at the University of Cape Coast in the Central Region, and over 200,000 students have benefited from it where they own their companies and have managed to hire others.

“We saw the need to come to the Ada College of Education to train the teacher trainees to let them know that they can add value to their lives aside from teaching jobs to enhance their standard of living conditions”, he told KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH.

Albert Kusi used the medium and appealed to the general public to come to their aid by supporting them financially to be able to organize such programs for the youth in the various tertiary institutions across the country to shape their life and become entrepreneurs after school.

Some students who joined the program thanked the leadership of the school led by Professor Prince Boateng for coming up with such a mind-blowing program to enlighten them on how to create job opportunities for themselves and become successful in life aside from their teaching profession.

According to them, they have learned a lot of things from all the resource personnel who spoke at the program, and they are going to work towards them one after the other whilst they are in school.

According to him, if they go into the 2024 election with bitterness, and disunity among others there is no way they can increase their votes in the Suhum constituency and maintain the Parliamentary seat for the NPP.

NPP Women Organizer Bemoaned The Suspension Of The Parliamentary Primaries In Akuapem South

Barbara Sampana, Women Org. – Akuapem South Constituency.

The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP), Women Organizer for Akuapem South Constituency in the Eastern Region, Barbara Sampana expressed her frustration over the suspension of its parliamentary primary.

She said the suspension of the constituency poll coupled with the party’s continuous silence on rescheduling a date for the exercise is a development that is unhealthy for Akuapem South and the NPP’s national front at large.

The NPP, before its nationwide primaries on January 27, 2024, to elect parliamentary candidates at constituencies where it has sitting Members of Parliaments suspended the poll of some areas including Akuapem South over issues of court injunction among others.

Commenting on the matter, Madam Sampana expressed that neither an official communique nor a new date has been communicated to the leadership of the constituency on holding their polls to elect a parliamentary candidate.

According to the Women Organiser, the absence of a Parliamentary Candidate for the area is not only affecting their campaign within the constituency but also their inability to sell the party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to the people without a parliamentary candidate.

She then admonished the National Executive of the party to fastrack their discussions around the affected constituencies amid resolving all issues at hand to pave the way for them to go to the polls to elect a leader to lead the area for the forthcoming December 7, 2024, general elections.

Barbara Sampana used the opportunity and entreated the party faithful in the area to exercise some patience as the leadership of the party will soon fix a new date for its primary.
