Let’s Maintained The Previous Lorry Fare To Save Our Job…Drivers Union Urged

The Chairman for Koforidua Trotro Drivers Union Association under the GPRTU of TUC, Ghana, Alhaji Sumaila Mahama has made humble appeal to the various Drivers Union Association in Ghana to go back for the old lorry fare.

He indicated, we are doing this work to serve our people as well as the country’s development.

‘We were asked by Prez Akufo-Addo to reduced the number of the passengers to curb the spread of the Covid- 19 for some months now. As a result some of the drivers increased their lorry fare before the 15% increment was commenced’, he noted.

Alhaji Sumaila Mahama said, now that the restriction have been lifted, we can operate to full capacity, the various Drivers Union should also consider the passengers and reduce the lorry fare anytime soon.

He revealed to Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH that, they didn’t increased their lorry fare when Prez Nana Addo asked them to reduce the number of their passengers and even when the new 15% increment was announced they were still collecting the old lorry fare.

According to him, this is what they can also do to help Prez Nana Addo and his gov’t in the fight against the covid – 19. Some Individuals, Companies, Churches etc donated heavily to support the Covid -19 Trust Fund but we couldn’t contributed anything.

Alhaji Sumaila Mahama added, so I had a meeting with my executives to come on agreement that we won’t increase the lorry fare and they all agreed.

MP Donates GH₵ 3,000.00 To Save The Stranded Couple With Triplets From Hospital

Mr. Mrs. Krodua are the natives of Old Tafo in the Abuakwa North Constituency of the Eastern Region who have given birth to premature triplets and finding it difficult to cater for their hospital bills.

Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH speaking in an interview with Mr. Michael Krodua the father of this triplets stated, his wife Mrs. Immah Obeyaa Krodua came to the Koforidua Central Hospital to be delivered. Unfortunately she was operated and the children were kept in incubators for two weeks for the survival.

‘After we were discharged from the hospital, in every two weeks we hire a Taxi from Old Tafo to Koforidua for the medical review, because the children are not physically strong. We pay the driver GH₵ 150.00.as our in and out’, he stressed.

Mr. Krodua further said, their in and out together with some medicine and petty petty items they bought for the children cost them about Gh ₵ 2,500.00. Last week Friday on July 17 we came for review and we were admitted at the Hospital again saying the children are not gaining weight and their mother too is short of breast milk.

From there life became tough for us before someone directed us to our Hon MP. Gifty Twum Ampofo for support and she have given us GH₵3,000.00 to settle some of our hospital debt. We say may God bless and enlarged her territories for showing us love.

Later on Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH had an interview with the MP for the area who double as the Deputy Minister of Education in charge of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Hon. Gifty Twum Ampofo stated, She had a call from Mr. Michael Krodua and saying he is in serious problem and he needed my little support.

‘Upon hearing his problem, I have to halt whatever am doing and rushed to the Koforidua Central Hospital to visit them because we don’t dumped human being.

Ghanaians Won’t Accept Your Fake Promises Anymore…Akorli To NPP Gov’t

The Deputy Eastern Regional Communication Officer for the main opposition NDC, Mr. Michael Ofoei Akorli has disclosed that, when the NPP gov’t led by Prez Akufo-Addo assume in office a lot of promises have been made to Ghanaians but haven’t seen anything.

He indicated, Prez Nana Addo told Ghanaians that his gov’t is going to established one factory in every district of Ghana, we don’t know when those factories will arrived. Again the same gov’t told us that he will set up a Zongo Development Fund to better the lives of people living in the Zongo communities. They are not able to fulfilled such promises.

Mr. Ofoei Akorli emphatically stressed, Ghanaians are tired of the NPP’s abysmal promises of lies and majority of them have loose trust in them completely.

He continue that, the gov’t has made it clear that as a result of the coronavirus, they won’t get the targeted revenue the country have to be generated.

‘Now the question is,’ where is the gov’t going to get the money from to temporary pay the workers who have loose their job in this novel coronavirus era as it was said by the Finance Minister Mr. Ken Ofori Atta in Ghana’s Parliament during the 2020 mid year budget review presentation,’ he asked?.

Mr. Michael Akorli adds, gov’t has made about Gh₵ 12bn from the coronavirus trust fund but the gov’t is not able to account for the things he has used the money for.

Koforidua: Fire Guts 50 Shops At Juaben Serwaa Market And Burnt Commodities Into Ashes

At about 2:30hrsam dawn today, on Wednesday July 22,2020 fire guts 50 stores at Juaben Serwaa Market in the New Juaben South Municipality of the Eastern Region and destroyed many property.

Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH speaking in an interview with the Eastern Regional Fire Service Command”s P.R.O A. D.O. I. Igneous Badu said they had a call at about 4:00hrsam that there is fire outbreak at the market and they didn’t hesitate to go to the scene. When we got to the scene it was very disastrous, the fire was burning and smoking.

But fortunately for us upon our arrival to the scene the residents have helped quench the Fire. He said as at now they don’t know the cause of the fire.

The MCE for New Juaben South Municipality Hon. Isaac Apaw Gyasi on his part said, its very unfortunate and this is the issue they need to confront with. We have come here several times to advice them not to trade at the middle of the market but they have ignored.

Speaking to Nana Kwasi Asare in an exclusive interview, the honourable MCE said, Ghanaians should consider all the flagship policies initiated by the NPP government such as Free Senior High School (FSHS), Planting/Rearing For Food And Jobs (PRFJ), Planting For Export And Rural Development (PERD) to mention a few, within its first term in office and vote for the NPP for more developmental projects come December 7th, 2020.

“It is the civic responsibility of all eligible voters to go out and register for the December 7th, 2020 polls. I urge all to consider the Nana Akufo-Addo led NPP government flagship policies like the free senior high school and others and vote massively for more socio-economic development.” Honourable Owusu Twum-Ampofo.

Prez Nana Addo will be cutting sod for the commencement of the new Eastern Regional Hospital coming this Wednesday on July 22,2020 somewhere in the afternoon.

He indicated, Eastern have been using Koforidua Central Hospital as the regional hospital over the past years. Late 2018 Prez Akufo-Addo and his Finance Minister Hon. Ken Ofori Atta got a loan to built this ultra modern hospital.

See Everyone As Covid – 19 Patient….Ghanaians Urged

He indicated, His Constituency has so far recorded hundred coronavirus cases. We must all be extra careful and take good of ourselves, the virus is real and has no respect for anybody.

Gifty Twum Ampofo said, Ministry of Education and Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (COTVET) have a programme called ‘Voucher’ programme of which last year 2019 I paid for 10 hairdressers and 10 seamstress to be trained on the voucher project and now they have completed.

She indicated, African Development Bank gave the Education Ministry under the COTVET equipment to support both the seamstress and hairdressers in Ghana who have completed the voucher training project.

‘I had several dialogue with them and later gave me some for my constituents who have also successfully completed the voucher training project,’ she stated.

Hon. Gifty Ampofo emphatically stressed, what’s important to me most now is’, all these 20 trained graduants will also have to train those who are willing to learn their own handiwork especially the vulnerable ones in our various societies.

“Because all this ultra modern equipment were given to them for free and their contribution is to also help and teach the youth who are ready to learn handiwork but have nobody to support them”.

Beneficiaries.

Hon. Gifty Twum Ampofo added, am expecting this 20 graduants to at least graduate 2 apprentice in every year to help reduce unemployment rate in Abuakwa North Constituency.
