
The Chairman for Koforidua Trotro Drivers Union Association under the GPRTU of TUC, Ghana, Alhaji Sumaila Mahama has made humble appeal to the various Drivers Union Association in Ghana to go back for the old lorry fare.
He indicated, we are doing this work to serve our people as well as the country’s development.
‘We were asked by Prez Akufo-Addo to reduced the number of the passengers to curb the spread of the Covid- 19 for some months now. As a result some of the drivers increased their lorry fare before the 15% increment was commenced’, he noted.
Alhaji Sumaila Mahama said, now that the restriction have been lifted, we can operate to full capacity, the various Drivers Union should also consider the passengers and reduce the lorry fare anytime soon.
He revealed to Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH that, they didn’t increased their lorry fare when Prez Nana Addo asked them to reduce the number of their passengers and even when the new 15% increment was announced they were still collecting the old lorry fare.
According to him, this is what they can also do to help Prez Nana Addo and his gov’t in the fight against the covid – 19. Some Individuals, Companies, Churches etc donated heavily to support the Covid -19 Trust Fund but we couldn’t contributed anything.

Alhaji Sumaila Mahama added, so I had a meeting with my executives to come on agreement that we won’t increase the lorry fare and they all agreed.
