The Eastern Regional Acting Director for National Population Council Secretariat, Mr. Kwasi Owusu Obeng has revealed that, Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey from 2017 and 2018 shows that 15-19yr old young ladies which represent 11% of them had sexual intercourse with men who are older than them 10yrs and above.

‘If this men have sex with the young ladies, it has so many implications on their life. Because this men may have different ladies or women whom they have had sex with and is very worrying,’ he opined.

Mr. Owusu Obeng adds, when this happens the young ladies are being exposed to HIV. Research indicated that, multiple sexual partners is a dangerous way of spreading the HIV when the person don’t protect himself during sexual intercourse.

He mentioned these to Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH during their 2020 World Population Day Celebration under the theme: PUTTING THE BRAKES ON COVID-19 TO SAFEGUARD THE HEALTH AND RIGHTS OF WOMEN AND GIRLS NOW.

Mr. Kwasi Owusu Obeng advice parents, guidance that when their girl child attain this age, they should get closer to them, have conversation with them concerning about the man and woman relationship to know how important it is,’ to help prevent them from the unwanted teenage pregnancies.

‘Again parents must ensure that their girl child go by the education they have given them and make sure to provide them their needs so that they won’t beg for arms from any man,’ he noted.

The Acting Eastern regional Director, Department of Gender, Mrs. Juliana Abbeyquaye stressed, if we say women is part of the decision making in the country, then women must be present at any point of time whenever there is decision making going on and make sure her contribution would reflect in the final decision.

She therefore encouraged her fellow women to be bold enough to vomit out their problems because your problems can only be solved if you vomit them out.

Angry Chiefs of Ekumfi Twa in the Ekumfi District of the Central Region are accusing their Omankrado of the community, Nana Asan for being an obstacle for the development of the area.

Addressing the Press Conference, the Ebusuapanyin of the Community Hamistu Saah said,they made him a sub-chief of the Ekumfi Twa for the passed three years, but there hasn’t been any development of the town and for that matter we are warning him to stop the insubordinate behavior else we the rest of the chiefs will destool him as a Chief.

‘Nana Asan always find troubles for the Chiefs and good peoples of Ekumfi Twa which tarnishes the image of our peaceful community,’ he emphasized.

The Community is planning to build a Chip compound clinic but he claims the land is for him, therefore he won’t allow us to built it of which we have taken the case to court as we are speaking.

Nana Asan has locked the pipe use by the residents in the community for no reasons and is very disturbing.

They indicated that, Nana Asan is dragging the development of Ekumfi Twa backwards and they won’t tolerate that….

In addition, Nana Obaatan Fouh V of the Community stressed, the Omankrado always fight with them at the meeting.

“I have lost my teeth because he attacked and beat me which is against our Chieftaincy law.

All what we are telling him is to’, quit from such insubordinated behaviour, he noted.

The NPP Executives of Krobo Block in the Eastern Region which comprises of Lower Manya Krobo, Upper Manya Krobo, Yilo Krobo and Asuogyman Constituency has held a press conference to encounter the allegations which was levelled against them by the NDC Executives of the same block.

It can be recalled that on last week Saturday July 11,2020 the NDC Executives of the Krobo Block held a press conference and accused the NPP Gov’t for bringing huge security personnels to intimidate their constituents to prevent them from coming out to register their names in the ongoing voters registration exercise.

They also said, the NPP Executives of the Krobo Block are busing strangers to have their names registered in the new voters register.

Responding to all these allegations during their press conference which was addressed by the NPP Asuogyman Constituency Secretary Mr. Christian Addo said, it is not true. Rather it is the NDC executives who are busing strangers to the various polling centres to register them and we won’t allow such people to register.

After the Press Conference, Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH had an interview with the NPP’s Parliamentary Candidate for Asuogyman Constituency who double as the Technical Advisor to the Transport Ministry, Mr. Paul Asare Ansah heavily accused the North Tongu MP for NDC in the V/R Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa for assisting the NDC MP and PC for Asuogyman to bus people from his constituency to come and register at old Akrade in the Asuogyman Constituency to help him retain the seat on December 7,2020 general elections.

He said, Hon Okudzeto Ablakwa took Hon. Ampem Nyarko to one of his villages called ‘Ogoly’ to meet the Chiefs and beg of them to come and support his friend Hon. Ampem Nyarko in Asuogyman, because as for him (Okudzeto Ablakwa) , his people will vote for him massively to win the 2020 parliamentary seat.

‘So I and the North Tongu PC for NPP who double as their DCE for the Assembly Hon. Richard Collins Arku went to the Ogoly to meet the people over there and asked them not to come to Old Akrade to register their names but some sneak in and have their names registered,’ he emphasized.

He further stressed, what saddened him most is’, some of the police officers in Asuogyman are also supporting Hon. Ampem Nyarko to achieve his bad intention by busing strangers into the constituency to take party of the ongoing new voters registration exercise.

Hon. Paul Ansah adds, we have to allow the real citizens of Asuogyman to vote and elect someone who think about the development of Asuogyman not the strangers. Because the strangers can’t decide for us who should be our MP. Moreover our Asuogyman destiny is not in the hands of the foreigners.

All the NPP PCs of Krobo Block were at the Press Conference including their secretaries and chairpersons.

MP for Abuakwa North and Aspiring Parliamentary Candidate for NPP in the Eastern Region who double as the Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Hon. Gifty Twum Ampofo has urged eligible Ghanaian voters to exercise patience during this new voters’ registration exercise to avoid the breaching of the social distancing protocol.

Hon. Gifty Ampofo added, if the electoral commission officials haven’t reach your area where you voted, don’t rush to go to the different constituency to cause congestion over there. No matter what ,it will get to your area for you to have your name registered.

‘This is the best practice we can do to curb the spread of coronavirus ,’ she noted.

Hon. Gifty Twum Ampofo said, the Abuakwa North Constituency first phase of the registration was very successful, despite some few challenges.

She mention these when she went rounds to observe the registration exercise as the first phase has come to an end. Hon. Gifty Twum Ampofo commended both the police officers and EC officials for great work done.

Hon. Gifty Twum Ampofo therefore appeal to her constituents that, if they are going to register their names they should put on their face mask, wash their hands thoroughly under running water and also observing the social distancing protocol.

MP for Abuakwa North Constituency in the Eastern Region and also the Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Hon. Gifty Twum Ampofo has donated fifty (50) thermometer guns to help the Local Council of Churches to beef up the covid – 19 safety protocols as the President eases restrictions amid the pandemic in her constituency.

She mentioned that, her decision was informed by the fact that, churches were not operational for almost three months that makes it difficult for most of the churches in the constituency to procure the infrared thermometers which are comparatively expensive to screen their members to help curb the COVID 19 spread as the president Nana Akufo-Addo directed when he eased the restrictions.

Hon. Gifty Twum Ampofo added, I know it won’t reach all the churches in the Abuakwa North Municipality , but they should manage this ones for us and in appropriate time we will come and add more to it.

Receiving the items, the Chairman for Abuakwa North Assembly Local Council of Churches, Rev Isaac Ofori thanked the Hon. MP for the wonderful gesture and continuous support to churches and promised to put the thermometers to the best use. He further blessed her in all her endeavours.

A 58-year-old father of five children, Kudjo Dakudzi was on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 attacked and killed by unknown assailants at about 9am on his okro farm at Akorley Foah, a suburb of Akorley in the Yilo Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region over suspected land litigation.

Two eyewitnesses including the deceased’s 13-year-old son with whom he visited the farm and one Mawuli, aged 18 told police that they were working in the farm with the deceased when one Nartey who is litigating with the deceased on a piece of land, together with two others, attacked Kudjo Dakudzi.

Police personnel from the Somanya Police Command proceeded to the scene and conveyed the body to the Atua Government Hospital emergency ward where he was pronounced dead on arrival after which the body was deposited at the hospital’s morgue for preservation and autopsy.

Assemblyman for the Akorley Electoral Area, Solomon Kwame Todoko observed that Kudjo Dakudzi’s murder is the first of its kind in the area.

The incident, he added, has left the entire community in a state of fear particularly farmers who would visit their farms alone as they could not guarantee their safety.

Meanwhile, Police says investigations have commenced into the case.

The New Juaben South Constituency first Vice Chairman for NPP in the Eastern Region , Mr. Benjamin Oduro Asante popularly known as Benash have dared the Former Prez and Flagbearer for NDC John Dramani Mahama to go to court if he loose the upcoming 2020 general elections to challenge the result there.

He indicates that, nobody can fault him if he disagree with the election result. In 2012 general elections we also went to the Supreme Court to challenge the result when we disagreed with the EC and we spent 6 in months Court and this is what we call it “democracy”.

Supreme Court then declared NDC victorious over us and for the love of the country and Ghanaian citizens at large, Nana Addo accepted the defeat without uttering a word.

Mr. Oduro Asante adds, former Prez JDM have already admitted that, he has loose the competition in advance whiles the elections isn’t commenced yet. But he has started attacking the centre referees (EC) and is very worrying.

‘If Prez Mahama don’t want his party members to partake in the new voters’ registration exercise its advantage for us. Because we are going to do house to house campaign for our members to understand and know the need of participating in the upcoming new voters’ registration exercise,’ he emphasized.

He mention these to Kingdom FM’s KONTIHEN KOFI OBOH in an interview.

He further stressed, Ghanaians shouldn’t let their heart to be troubled, we will continue to enjoy our peace and nothing bad will happen to this country.

Mr. Benjamin Oduro Asante added, Prez Akufo-Addo has promised and said, he don’t like hooliganism and he will seek to it that peace continue to take its course in the country. Anybody who will try to bring chaos will be dealth with by our security agencies.

‘All those who are threatening that after the 2020 general elections there would be hooliganism in the country, I must say they are just bragging because they can’t do anything,’ he opined.

Residents in Ankaful in the Cape Coast North Constituency of the Central stated emphatically that,they will uproot Hon. Barbara Asher Ayisi the Mp for Cape Coast North for her inability to do any developmental project in the area.

According to them,since She became their MP,she haven’t stepped her foot in the area to even thank them for voting for her.

They revealed to Anaafi Kokooto that,filth have swallowed them since they have only one toilet facility which is far from some of them tendering some of them to defecate in the bushes and their refuse dump site.

Meanwhile some of them bemoaned to Anaafi Kokooto that,their main problem is a toilet facility, relocation of their refuse dump site which is in the middle of the town as well as a gutter to reduce flooding situations in the area.

“Whenever we go to the refuse dump to dump our refuse, we always see “manhood” of different length and sizes since visitors and we the residents don’t have any place to go to toilet”,one of the women disclosed”.

They therefore appealed to Hon. Barbara Ayisi to as a matter of urgency to come to their aid or loose this upcoming 2020 general elections.

A 57 years old Pastor of the African Faith Tabernacle Church at Gomoa Ojobi in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region , Pastor Peter Inkoom has been summoned to the Odikro and his elders by his own brother after he is said to have been dating their mother for 19 good years.

Joseph Quarshie, a Junior brother to the Pastor(Sofo Peter Inkoom) reported the case to the Chief and Elders of the Ojobi Community after realizing that all efforts to get their mother recovered from her ailment has proven futile.

The Pastor, when interrogated at the palace after appearing before the Nananom accepted that ,he has had an affair with their mother and that he must be forgiven.

Odikro of the Gomoa Ojobi Community, Nana Atta Kakrah IX also revealed that the Pastor has been asked to pay Three(3) Sheeps, Three(3) Schnapps and GH¢300.00 as a fined to be used to perform any necessary rite at palace and for the entire Community.
